Get Pregnant with Symptothermal Method

Symptothermal Method Use the Symptothermal method and get pregnant faster by determining your fertile days in the cycle.

Which natural method is best suited for determining the fertile days in the early childhood cycle? This is one of the most common questions that I’ve been asked several times as a fertility consultant. Since 2010, I have been dealing with this issue and can clearly state that it’s the Symptothermal method. The reason why Symptothermal method, in my view, is the best natural method of getting pregnant and how I got pregnant twice with this method, I will explain to you in this article.

What is the Symptothermal method?

Symptothermal method is a natural family planning (NFP) method for determining fertile and sterile days in a cycle. Simplified, the Symptothermal method is a combination of the cervical mucus (sympto) method and the temperature (thermal) method. From the knowledge of biology, it’s clear that a woman can only get pregnant when the egg and sperm meets. Here, sperm can remain fertile for up to five days in the woman’s body, during which they are fed by cervical mucus and protected by the acidic medium of Vulvina. The ovule is fertile for a maximum of 12 to 18 hours after ovulation. As the duration of spermatozoa and oocytes fertilization is limited, the biologically fertile cycle can be determine by the woman using the Symptothermal method. Fertile days are determined by observing certain ovulation signs such as temperature in combination with cervical or cervical mucosal signs. The temperature of ovulation signs, mucus or cervix are documented in a cycle sheet or suitable NFP app – then the fertile days in the cycle can be determined according to fixed method rules.

What are the chances of getting pregnant using the Symptothermal method?

pregnancy rate fertility awareness

C Gnoth et. al. Hum Reprod. 2003 Sep;18(9):1959-66.

Symptothermal method has been scientifically tested. In a study conducted in 2003 on over 300 women, the Symptothermal method achieved a pregnancy rate of 81% at 6 months and 92% at 12 months. In comparison, women aged between 18 and 40 who are trying to get pregnant without using any method are at about 60% after 6 months and 85% after 12 months. This study thus clearly showed that sex on the highly fertile days determined by the Symptothermal method can significantly increase the pregnancy rate.

Symptothermal method compared to reproductive medicine – What’s better?

Now, there are many couples with unrealized desire for children who have been waiting for their desired child for some time. So far, it’s a common practice for all couples who have been waiting for over a year for their desired child to go to a fertility treatment centre using modern methods of reproductive medicine, such as IVF, ICSI, etc. What happens if these same couples use instead the Symptothermal method? Exactly, this question was discussed more intensively in a study in 2017. Nearly 200 women were asked to determine their fertile days using the Symptothermal method. The women waited at least a year and a maximum of eight years for their desired child. About half of the participants were already over 35 years old and some couples had already used reproductive medicine methods in vain. It was therefore not necessary to rely naturally on a large number of pregnancies. Nevertheless, 38% of the women became naturally pregnant within eight months. If you look at the women who waited only one to two years for their desired child, it was about 56%. Without the Symptothermal method-scientists have calculated from the pregnancy rate in the first cycle and a maximum of 21% of the couples would naturally get pregnant. The Symptothermal method almost doubled the pregnancy rate by 38% against 21%. These figures are even more impressive in relation to reproductive medicine. According to the IVF figures registered in Austria, it can be concluded that about 30% to 35% of couples during the first attempt with IVF or ICSI gets pregnant. Unfortunately, pregnancy rate is not equal to the rate of baby care and therefore loses, according to information from the website of IVF center in Austria, about 20% of couples suffers from miscarriages. Considering the costs of reproductive medicine and their psychological and physical stress (side effects, etc.), the role of the Symptothermal method must be reassessed. According to researchers of the 2017 case study, the Symptothermal method should be the first treatment in the event of an unfulfilled desire to have children. Finally, similarly good pregnancy rates are obtained with less physical and psychological stress and significantly lower costs. In order to determine whether reproductive medicine is better than the Symptothermal method, additional studies are needed. However, previous studies shows clearly that natural fertility is stronger than many believe.

Symptothermal method compared to cycle-computers –what’s better?

So far, there are few studies on this subject. The fact is that cycle-computers are less studied scientifically as compared to the Symptothermal method. Studies on pregnancy rates or baby take-home are not available on most models on the market. The only relevant study conducted by Stiftung Warentest on cycle-computers dates back to the year 2000, when the current cycle-computers models (cyclotest, Babycomp, Persona) were compared to the Symptothermal method. In all cases, cycle-computers have a low performance as to the Symptothermal method. Depending on the model, cycle-computers showed different degrees of deviation in determining fertile days. The winner of the said study on determining fertile days and ability to infertility was undoubtedly the Symptothermal method. Similarly, the study showed that temperature computers were working better than the LH-computers, probably because the fertility algorithm is based on the pure temperature method. Due to poor results, mucus computers were probably withdrawn completely from the market. The quality of the current calculated fertility algorithms by the cycle-computers cannot be properly evaluated due to the lack of studies. However, even in complicated cases, the applicability of cycle computer is excluded only by the conditions of use of the cycle computer in the packing instructions. In this case, women with PCOS or directly after the pill is stopped with a maximum restriction cycle time of 45 days will as some device manufacturers indicate, have problems. Likewise, women in shift work will push to their limits with a temperature window of less than 5 hours difference in measurement, as many devices demand. In the case of LH-computers, the limit of cycle length is even more limited; In this case, the limit is often reached with a maximum cycle time of 32 days. On the other hand, the Symptothermal method can be used without any problem at each cycle length, as well as in the PCOS and shift work. It should also be remembered that cycle computers are relatively costly. Here, the Symptothermal method of the operation is actually much less expensive. Finally, one can say that the quality-price ratio of the Symptothermal method is higher than that of the cycle-computers.

My Symptothermal Method Experiences

In this article, I would like to talk briefly on my experiences with the use of the Symptothermal method of getting pregnant. So far, I have been pregnant twice using the Symptothermal method, despite the Hashimoto’s and luteal insufficiency. It worked out in the first cycle. I was 27 for the first child and 29 for the second. In doing so, I used the Symptothermal method to diagnose my yellow body weakness and had it treated by an alternative medicine. A further 15 testimonials of women who became pregnant despite endometriosis, PCOS, long waiting period, shift work, long-distance relationship, yellow body weakness, underactive thyroid gland and much more can be found in my eBook.

Symptothermal Method – My Book

Learn more about the eBook! In order for you to use the Symptothermal method optimally to get pregnant, I wrote the eBook “WHEN AM I FERTILE?” In the first chapter, you will find a step by step guide to the Symptothermal method. Here, you will learn how to interpret your ovulation signs and to effectively determine the fertile days. Similarly, you will find detailed explanations on body observation, documentation and ovulation signs assessment: basal body temperature, cervical mucus, cervical cervix and others. Including exercise cycles with solutions that helps you to test your knowledge and apply the method independently. There are equally tips for everyday life, on how to integrate the Symptothermal method or temperature measurement and cervical mucus documentation into your everyday life. The second chapter deals with cycle diagnostics, which helps to limit the causes of unrealized desire to have children. The third chapter contains 15 testimonials from women who have successfully used the Symptothermal method of pregnancy.

Symptothermal Method App

Firstly, most fertility apps, even if so identified, are not suitable for the Symptothermal method. This resulted in a study of the Stiftung Warentest from 2017, which unfortunately is only available in detail at an additional charge. We thoroughly tested the three best apps in the Stiftung Warentest’s study and recommend the Lily app for iPhone and the LadyCycle application for Android. All applications must take into account the fact that they facilitate only the documentation of ovulation signs such as temperature and mucus, but cannot replace the knowledge of the method. For this reason, we always recommend reading a good book about the Symptothermal method or attending a course before using the app.

Basal Body Thermometer

Most women use a digital thermometer to measure the temperature according to the Symptothermal method. This digital thermometer must have two decimals and able to measure for at least three minutes. It’s usually measured in the mouth (oral), vulva (vaginal) and buttocks (rectal). The measurement method should be maintained in a cycle. At first, I always recommend a simple NFP digital thermometer for the Symptothermal method with a soft/quiet beep and a flexible tip. The most popular thermometer on our blog is the L-Care Basal thermometer, you can find more thermometers on our page.

Conclusion

Nowadays, Symptothermal method is currently the best method to determine the fertile days in the world. It’s scientifically very well controlled and ovulation can be limited to a few days. Several independent studies have shown that the Symptothermal method can increase the pregnancy rate. The Symptothermal method is applicable to almost all women, regardless of the length or how irregular the cycle is. Even in difficult cases with couples with a long waiting period, the Symptothermal method was convincing and increased the pregnancy rate. The Symptothermal method is cheap and has no side effects on health and also applicable to almost all women with unrealized desire to have children. I got pregnant twice in the first cycle using the Symptothermal method despite the Hashimoto’s and yellow body weakness. For this reason, I can recommend the Symptothermal method without restriction in cases of having children. I would like to encourage you with this article to try out the Symptothermal method and wishes you all the best on your way to your desired child
